The Regional Parks Botanic Garden is located within Tilden Regional Park in the hills above Berkeley, California. The Garden has two entrances:

  • Main Entrance - At the intersection of Wildcat Canyon Road and South Park Drive. The directions in Google Maps to the Regional Parks Botanic Garden are to this entrance. This entrance is across Wildcat Canyon Road from the main parking lot and restrooms. Note: South Park Drive is closed to cars October 31 - March 31.

  • West Gate - Off Anza View Road. The directions in Apple Maps to Regional Parks Botanic Garden are to this entrance. There is parking along the lawn side of the street.

Cell phone coverage: There is little to no cell phone coverage at the Garden. You can make WiFi calls from cell phones if you first log in to the free Garden WiFi network. The network name is: EBPARKSGUEST. The username is parkguest and the password is 12345.

Visit by public transportation

The area near the Regional Parks Botanic Garden is served by AC Transit. On weekdays, the 65 line bus stops about 0.5 mile uphill from the garden at Grizzly Peak Blvd and Shasta Road. For more information, call 511 or contact AC Transit at 510-891-4777.

Visit by car

    1. Take Hwy 24 eastbound through the Caldecott Tunnel in the far right lane.

    2. Exit at Fish Ranch Road immediately after leaving the tunnel.

    3. Follow the road to the right and then follow the signs for Fish Ranch Road to the stop sign at Grizzly Peak Blvd (0.75 mile).

    4. Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd and continue for 3 miles to the stop sign at Golf Course Road/Centennial Drive.

    5. Turn right on Golf Course Road and continue for 1 mile to the stop sign at Shasta Road.

    6. Turn right on Shasta Road, continue for 0.2 mile, and merge right onto Wildcat Canyon Road.

    7. Continue for 0.1 mile to the Botanic Garden parking lot on the right.

    1. Take Hwy 24 westbound.Exit at Fish Ranch Road, just before the Caldecott Tunnel.

    2. At the end of the long off ramp, turn right on Fish Ranch Road. Continue for 0.7 mile to the stop sign at Grizzly Peak Blvd.

    3. Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd and continue for 3 miles to the stop sign at Golf Course Road/Centennial Drive.Turn right on Golf Course Road and continue for 1 mile to the stop sign at Shasta Road.

    4. Turn right on Shasta Road, continue for 0.2 mile, and merge right onto Wildcat Canyon Road.

    5. Continue for 0.1 mile to the Botanic Garden parking lot on the right.

    Note: Wildcat Canyon Road is closed at the intersection with Camino Pablo due to landslide.

    1. Take I-580 west to the Albany/Buchanan Street left exit.

    2. Follow the off ramp road for 0.2 mile to the signal at Buchanan Street.

    3. Turn left on Buchanan Street and continue until it merges with Marin Avenue.

    4. Follow Marin Avenue east for 1.5 miles to the traffic roundabout. Go halfway around the roundabout and continue up Marin Avenue (the steepest street) for 0.5 mile to Euclid Avenue.

    5. Turn left on Euclid Avenue and continue for 0.6 mile to Grizzly Peak Blvd.

    6. Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd and continue for 1.2 miles to Shasta Road, on the left.

    7. Turn left on Shasta Road, follow it downhill for 0.4 mile (follow the sign to "All Other Facilities"), and merge right onto Wildcat Canyon Road.

    8. Continue for 0.1 mile to the Botanic Garden parking lot on the right.

    1. Take I-80 west towards Albany/Berkeley and take the Albany exit.

    2. Turn left at the end of the off ramp onto the frontage road.

    3. Follow the frontage road south for 0.4 mile as it curves under the overpass and merges with Buchanan Street.

    4. Continue east on Buchanan Street until it merges with Marin Avenue.

    5. Follow Marin Avenue east for 1.5 miles to the traffic roundabout. Go halfway around the roundabout and continue up Marin Avenue (the steepest street) for 0.5 mile to Euclid Avenue.

    6. Turn left onto Euclid Avenue and continue for 0.6 mile to Grizzly Peak Blvd.

    7. Turn right on Grizzly Peak Blvd and continue for 1.2 miles to Shasta Road, on the left.

    8. Turn left on Shasta Road, follow it downhill for 0.4 mile (follow the sign to "All Other Facilities"), and merge right onto Wildcat Canyon Road.

    9. Continue for 0.1 mile to the Botanic Garden parking lot on the right.

If the main parking lot is full:

  1. Backtrack one block to Anza View Road (a small, one-way street on the right).

  2. Turn right on Anza View Road, park on the lawn side of the street, and enter the Garden through the West gate on Anza View Road.
